Gotta Have Gadget

By Mike Conrad

It’s crunch time!  For those last minute shoppers, or for those who wait until after Christmas to give their presents, these “Gotta Have Gadgets” will make you the talk of your friends!

There are very few gadgets out there that become an instant classic, The Man Table, as soon as I saw it, went into the “Gotta Have Gadget” Hall of Fame!

So, what is a “Man Table?”  Perhaps you have seen one, but never knew the true secret of the man table.  The Man Table is a beautifully handcrafted end table that would look great in any living room or man cave.  What makes this an instant hall of fame gadget is that, within this beauty, is a built in refrigerator!

I knew this was an instant classic as soon as it arrived.  My wife said, “That will look wonderful in our living room!”  Of course, she didn’t realize it was a refrigerator!  That is what makes this such a great item.  I actually have fun when guests come over, and I send them into the living room to get a beer out of the fridge.  They stand in the middle of the room looking around helplessly as they search for the beer.  When I go over to the Man Table, they cannot believe it!  When their wife or girlfriend tells them the man table would look great in their living room, they all rush to the internet to visit:

These end tables are Amish made, and you can truly see the craftsmanship the day it arrives.  Available in tobacco, espresso, and black, there is a Man Table for even the most decorative living room.  The debate will begin between men and women if the Man Table is an elegant end table or a classic refrigerator.  Honestly, who cares, it functions perfectly as both.

The Man Table eliminates the sprint to your kitchen or basement during commercials of the big game as it easily holds a 30-pack of your favorite beverage.  You will find the most popular seat on game day is next to the Man Table!

I’ll admit it– when it comes to frozen drinks, I suck at making them.  The blender never seems to chop the ice just right, or the beverage to ice ratio is off.  But the folks at Margaritaville® have made me a better bartender with their ultimate Margaritaville® Cordless Frozen Concoction Maker®.  I hesitate to call it a frozen concoction maker, however, there is no way I can call this a blender.  Why? Well where do I start?  First of all, this runs off a heavy duty 18-volt NiCd battery, shaving ice and perfectly blending ingredients to create up to 60 restaurant quality frozen drinks on a single charge.  Plus, its rugged, portable design makes it easy to take poolside, out on a boat, tailgating, you name the place, you can bring it!

This is how easy it is to make your favorite frozen beverage.  First, place the ice in the top ice holder.  Second, mix your favorite beverage in the shatterproof pitcher, then select if you want 1, 2 or 3 glasses.  Hit the button and the Margaritaville® Cordless Frozen Concoction Maker® does all the work for you.  It’s powerful, easy to use, and so far I have yet to out drink the battery!  This is a gadget that I have been personally testing every weekend this summer… and its paradise unplugged!  To check out all the details, visit Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Maker!

When I heard that Google was entering the cell phone market, I had to check it out for myself.  The Google Pixel has entered the market by storm.  If there is one feature of this phone I LOVE (and there is more than just one), it’s the “Google Assistant!”  Wait, I already know what you are going to say, “I have heard the camera is the best feature of this phone!”  For me, it’s a toss-up.  The camera is amazing and is by far the best I have seen on a mobile phone.

Being an iPhone user, I often ask Siri a question and get frustrated when I am referred to a website.  For example, just the other day I asked, “Hey Siri, how long does it take to boil an egg?”  The response was, “Here is what I found on the web for how long does it take to boil an egg.”  I then took out the Pixel and asked the same question; the response was “12 minutes!”  I was also able to hear my daily calendar, my favorite music, and my travel plans, faster than on the iPhone.

My next favorite feature (I told you there were many) is the unlimited storage for pictures and video via Google Drive.  My wife is always deleting files so she can run a simple update.  Most of those files are pictures she has taken over a few months.  She has to delete them, or sync to clean up space, simply to upgrade the OS.  Just when I thought this phone couldn’t get any better, I tested out Daydream View, which is the Virtual Reality system.  I have always been a little skeptical about VR on phones, but this was pretty cool.  The entire family checked it out, and one word was repeated over and over: “AWESOME!”  Putting the entire package together will cost you a pretty penny, but if you are giving this gift, make sure I am on your good list!  If you want to see the complete list of specs, check out

As always, if you are looking for the coolest gadgets, check out my blog  Everything to me is a gadget, so there is a wide variety of products there.  I have personally tested every one and will continue to test gadgets to find the best out there!  Here’s wishing everyone a Happy Holiday and very Happy New Year!
